Hybrid grass in a cemetery is intended to maintain the calm atmosphere required by relatives and visitors. In winter, the grass must cope with visitors’ heavy footwear. This is far from easy when the grass roots are dormant. CoverLawn® provides a solution for this issue.
CoverLawn® is a hybrid grass that allows natural grass to grow through it so that the hybrid and natural grass can form a single unit. In the summer, the visitors will see the grass they expect. In the winter, the grass is still green, with the most exposed areas receiving most assistance from hybrid grass.
In the winter, when interring urns, you melt the surface so that the frost retreats. You then make an incision in CoverLawn®, dig the hole and lay the urn in it. Backfill and then sew together the joint with polyester yarn before covering the surface again. In the spring, you seed and fertilise the area and the grass will regrow.
On the underside of CoverLawn® is a knotted reinforcement that protects the grass roots during the winter. The polyethylene grass also provides a pleasant green surface on which to walk. When spring arrives and the grass roots come to life, the grass grows and a new green summer awaits.
NRT 2202 has curled and straight piles that are 22 mm long, the curled piles prevent the soil from coming up to the surface.
NRT 3002 has the same structure as NRT 2202 but the piles are longer. Which are ideal if your area is subject to very heavy loads and is water sensitive in the autumn, as they retain the soil better.
Installation is carried out directly on the surface to be reinforced. Can be used immediately. It is also possible to install CoverLawn® on a seedbed if you are constructing a new facility. If so, apply CoverLawn® immediately to the seedbed, enabling the seeds to germinate faster as CoverLawn® produces moisture and heat.
- Ash burial grove
- Memorial place
- Around the chapel
- Disabled access routes
- All grass areas exposed to severe wear
- The surface should be flat so that lawn mowing does not tear up CoverLawn® and the ground surface. It is particularly sensitive during the integration period. This applies especially to rotary lawn mowers. Use a manual lawn mower during the integration period.
- If it doesn’t grow from beneath, you still have a beautiful CoverLawn® surface.
